Organic food products are broadly defined as food produced without synthetic inputs such as chemicals, fertilizers, pesticides and synthetic hormones or GMOs (genetically modified organisms).

Greece, with Mediterranean climate conditions, produces a unique range of organic crops. The country is most famously known its production of citrus fruits (oranges, tangerines and lemons), vegetables (olives, tomatoes, potatoes, onions and carrots) and herbs (oregano, parsley, dill, basil and thyme).

Intereps exported a large assortment of fruits and vegetables to neighboring countries. Distributors and retailers rated the imported food products very good.
